OUR STORY
Crown of the Alchemist (COTA) is a story borne of two hearts. The creators of the story, under the single pseudonym LYRAX, are a married couple with a passion for art and storytelling. The world began several years ago through the husband's passion for D&D and worldbuilding, and the wife sealed the deal with her writing and management skills. Through the years, the world of Tevus has grown into the story of COTA, and it will be a journey to remember.FUN FACT: COTA was originally destined to be a D&D campaign, but it never ran. The alchemy students you meet would have been the players. Instead, the story has been repurposed into a webtoon!The story of Gihon and Edelein is loosely inspired by how the Lyrax couple met, with several references to their relationship given a new and fresh fantasy twist. Several events in the story are inspired by real situations that the couple has gone through together (with less monsters, of course). Thus, the story of COTA is incredibly personal to the creators and it is cherished as thus. We are honored to share it with you!The COTA team is composed of four people:

Gihon Marleogne is the 30-year-old Dirigent of Ravencroft, and the lead of our story. Tasked with overseeing the town of Ravencroft as its Dirigent, Gihon commits his time to maintaining his hometown and upkeeping the Corvid Athenaeum. Gihon is a passionate teacher, having inherited his life of leadership from the most renowned alchemist in history: his master, Arvien Marleogne. The students of the Athenaeum learn high-level alchemy under his thorough care and admire his skills greatly.
Most know him to be a stoic, showing little emotion and choosing to remain reclusive within the Athenaeum. He is described as mysterious or even cold by his peers, but his students see the kind heart and passion for alchemy within the walls of the Athenaeum.
Edelein von Luvemann is a legendary monster hunter with a mysterious past. Hailing from a prestigious family name, this 24-year-old leading lady is the last descendant of a once-great lineage. This fierce lioness prefers to go out hunting and exploring much more than staying home to handle the politics of nobility, but duty tends to call her name more than she would care for it to. Her heart yearns for freedom, her body eternally bound to duty.
Edelein is described by her associates as powerful and confident, with an aura that demands attention and the incredible skillset to back up her personality. She's intelligent and bold, eager to humble any man that dare challenge her.
Zander Khepri is a man of few kind words. This 30-year-old sphynx cat serves as the Ehret of the Zengarde, making him the highest ranked and fiercest warrior in all of Zenluve. While competent and capable in battle, Zander's temperament often leaves newcomers with a bad impression of the Zenluvians. Highly protective of his allies and the Throne he is sworn to, Zander is difficult to earn the trust or approval of, instead preferring to maintain a threatening aura to ward off any dangers.
Zander's allies describe him as a well-meaning, but guarded man. He can be rather prickly, though he is always the first man on the frontlines, swords brandished to protect his allies. Ultimately, his desire is the same as the rest of the Zengarde: to protect the Throne at any cost.
Alett Strigo is an 18-year-old horned owl zoa, the supergenius child of two incredibly intelligent and reputable parents. Not only is he the youngest Zengarde in history, but the only one to make it to such a high rank. As the Zwitet, he falls just underneath Zander as the second-ranked soldier of the Throne. With thick octagonal glasses to aid his vision, Alett is known for switching between them and his goggles when he needs to act fast. He carries a signature bag of holding that contains not only his own weaponry, but the weapons of his allies.
Alett's fellow Zengarde describe him as a bright young man, with a loud and excitable personality and a thirst for knowledge. He loves to poke fun at his allies, especially Zander, making for an interesting duo with an unconventional synergy both on and off the battlefield.
